Susan Markel has recently come to Port Orford from Colorado with her husband, Wayne, and sister Debbie from California. We purchased 12 Acres Bed & Breakfast off of Paradise Point. Susan has one daughter, Adrienn and three grandchildren, also two step-children Jeff and Alisha. Susan graduated from the University of West Florida in 1990. She taught high school in Florida then moved to Kansas where she and Wayne purchased the local hardware, lumber yard, garden center and appliance center. Along with keeping the books for the store, she taught the Gifted program in the local high school. While in Kansas, Susan also served on the City Council for 8 years. Within those 8 years Susan coordinated the downtown beautification, Heritage Holiday Celebration, the city RV Park, and assisted with the airport grant.
